SS Rex Ocean Liner - With ScaleDecks Wood Deck - Italian Line / Mid To Late 1930s

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

$669

Finally, the Pride of the Italian Line in 1/350 scale! The SS Rex is from the same team that brought you the 1/350 SS Normandie Ocean Liner. This four year project is a 100% new model and represents the Rex in her glory years of the mid 1930s. All design work was done in CAD by Ken Friend, a master modeler, designer and builder of experimental engines and test equipment and an engineer who specialized in CAD/CAM/CAE Systems Management and Implementation. All of the smaller parts are printed on ultra-high resolution 3D SLA resin printers. These parts meet and often exceed what is possible with injection molded plastic. Only the larger parts (hull, deck pieces and funnels)are cast resin. These are pressure-cast from de-aired molds to minimize air bubbles. The Italian Line advertised that "The Southern Route Is the Lido Deck Route." By virtue of avoiding the stormy and cold North Atlantic, travelers experienced a true outdoor lifestyle. The Rex was intentionally designed for this. For this model, extensive research and time was spent capturing the exact look of the colorful 1st and 2nd Class Aft Pool Areas- from the changing room & showers, grab rope on the pool, pool slide, stairs & diving boards, tables with umbrellas, recessed (covered) 1st Class Restaurant/Lounge and more. Because of the superior performance of 3D Printing, over 90% of the usual PE (photoetched) metal parts are now 3D printed resin. This is a vast improvement as they are no longer flat, but are true to the shape of the prototype. This also makes for a nearly complete model "out-of-the-box." Includes a real wood deck from Scaledecks. NOTE: railings are the only parts not included with the model shown. They are not required to complete the kit, however 1/350 railings are sold by a vast number of aftermarket sources. I will refer all buyers to the sources that I believe work the best with the kit.   more info >

Aurora Martin B-26 Marauder, 1/46, 371-259

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$225

Very rare first issue from the early 1950s. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large scale bombers. All kits released up to this time had been small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. This box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year, making it very rare. The kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with the original tissue paper, all parts, large clear stand, instructions and decals.

Pyro Laird-Turner Pesco Special Thompson Trophy Racer - Motorized, 1/32, 342-249

Features steerable tail wheel, movable elevators, rudder and ailerons, detailed cockpit with pilot, seat and instrument panel and electric motor with pulley drives. The complete line of 1/32 Pyro motorized Thompson Trophy Air Racers is the Hall-Springfield 'Bulldog', Gee Bee and Laird Turner Pesco Special.

NOTE: missing (1) rear window racing strap (very easily made), custom clear front grill bars. Otherwise complete with all other parts. Also, NOTE: the 'hood ornament' appears to be missing; however, the 64 Marauder never had a hood ornament and there is no hole in the hood for it, so it may be a mistake in the instructions.

Estes Apollo Saturn V Flying Scale Model, 1/100, K-36

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM++

$250

Still factory sealed and very rare in an amazing, investment grade 'Sealed Near Mint++' box. This is the finest K-36 issue that I have seen and it came from the stock of a long-closed hobby shop. It was never put out for sale and never saw the light of day until now. The seal is 100% intact with no splits. The colors are perfect and factory fresh. The box top has no fading or dents. All four corners are crisp and as they left the factory. There has never been any tape, stickers or price tags on this box. The box top has one very light and short (1 inch) crease at the lower right corner; however, it is so indistinguishable that it did not show up in the photo. The box bottom does have one minor crease that looks like it happened at the factory. This is the Saturn V that is 43.25 inches high and 3.93 inches in diameter. Recommended engine is the D12-3 or three C6-3; includes Technical Report TR-6 on Engine Clustering. Please NOTE that this kit must be shipped along (with no other kits that could damage it) and in a double box to preserve the condition.

Skyhook Models Custom Crime Fighter Batmobile Conversion Kit - For The Revell Futura - Bagged, 1/25

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$29

Rare. Before there were Batmobile kits, there was the Skyhook Models Batmobile Conversion Kit, which could make Batman's Custom Crime Fighter from the Revell Lincoln Futura. The Futura was the original car that George Barris modified to became the star of the famous TV show. The conversion parts are made from high definition resin and includes full instructions. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes all paperwork. Since this is the conversion parts only, the ideal base kit is the 1995 reissue of the famous Futura 'S' kit. Ford created the Lincoln Futura as a concept car to promote Lincoln. The designers were Ford lead stylists John Jajjar and Bill Schmidt. Unlike many concept cars, this one was fully operational. The basis of the chassis was the Continental Mark II and she was powered by a 368 cubic inch Lincoln engine and powertrain. The car was hand built by Ghia in Italy and originally cost $250,000, or about $2.3 million in modern USD. The car was a big success for Ford and brought significant recognition in toys, movies and the show circuit. It was first displayed in 1955. When Ford was done, they sold the car to George Barris for $1. Because it was never titled and could not insured, Barris parked it behind the shop. However, in 1966 Barris was asked to make a car for the Batman TV series. Dean Jefferies was originally contracted with, but he could not make the car in time. Barris thought the Futura would make a fine basis for the Batmobile, and so it did. Barris always retained ownership of the car, leasing it to the studio for filming. In 2013 he sold the car to a collector for 4.62 Million US Dollars.
